Ironworkers Labor-Management Organization Endorse Go Build
Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT) applaud Go Build industry efforts and announce continued partnership
NOVEMBER 7, 2017 – Today, the Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT), a labor-management partnership affiliated with the Iron Workers Union, announced their endorsement of Go Build, a non-profit workforce development initiative that seeks to enhance the image of the construction industry and educate young people, parents, and “influencers” about career opportunities in the skilled trades.“The work that Go Build has done to raise awareness of the career opportunities in the construction industry is in perfect harmony with those same efforts at IMPACT and we applaud the work that has been accomplished,” IMPACT CEO Kevin Hilton said in their endorsement letter. IMPACT is an organization that works to expand job opportunities for Union Ironworkers and their contractors through progressive and innovative labor-management cooperative programs.
“We are grateful for the continued support and look forward our continued partnership with IMPACT,” said Bob Woods, CEO/President of Go Build. “ Our primary goal at Go Build is to enlighten and educate an individual so that they are inspired to become a craftsperson. What makes Go Build truly unique – in addition to our sustained, multi-platform strategy – is that we are the only all-inclusive workforce development initiative in the country, promoting all training opportunities including shop classes, vo-tech, association, apprenticeship, union, 2 and 4 year programs, & more. This partnership exemplifies our mission to enhance the perception of our industry, and most importantly, highlight all of various career pathways in the trades,” Woods said.
In addition to their endorsement of Go Build, IMPACT will also be engaged on the forthcoming national Go Build America campaign. Launching December 11th, Go Build America will be an extension of Go Build’s state efforts in Alabama, Tennessee and California by serving the immediate local needs of the industry and simultaneously providing a nation-wide rallying cry through an expanded program platform. “The construction industry needs more motivated entrants today than in at any other time… We are pleased that Go Build helps to provide direction to a person that seeks a great opportunity in our industry and points them to the next step on a satisfying journey. It’s not secret that the IW local unions have partnered with Go Build efforts around the country,” Hilton said.
IMPACT joins the following national organizations that have endorsed Go Build including Associated General Contractors of America, Associated Builders and Contractors and the U.S. Department of Labor.
